Balcombe Creek Sewer Diversion

Project Description: The project consists of the installation of approximately 290m to 250mm CERTALOC PVC, construction of 6 manholes and live sewer break ins.

Targets/Performance Outcomes: The pipeline easement container highly sensitive flora and fauna and difficult ground conditions due the limited site access. A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s of disturbance to the public or stakeholders was also a must for a successful completion.

Seaford Sewer Rising Main Emergency Works

Client: Utility Services (Thiess / South East Water)

Project Description

The emergency works involved the supply and installation of approximately 130m of 180mm PE pipe in the reserve behind Seaford residents (Nepean Hwy) and Kananook Creek. JHL’s works consisted of PE welding, open cut installation, air valve installation, live pump station connection, all quality testing and reinstatement.

Targets / Performance Outcomes

The reserve contained highly sensitive flora and fauna and ground conditions with Acid Sulphate Soil (ASS) that was required to be treated on site as the works progressed. A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders was also a must for a successful completion.

Construction of Berwick Cranbourne Rd Rising Main Replacement

Client: Utility Services (Thiess / South East Water)

Project Description

The scope of the works was to replace the existing 150mm AC sewer main with the installation of approximately 100m of 180mm PN16 black poly pipe. Works included all excavations, PE welding, pipe laying, testing and all reinstatement works. Stakeholders included South East Water, Melbourne Water, Casey Grammar School and Marnebek School Cranbourne.

Targets / Performance Outcomes

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connection to AC sewer mains and reinstatement of Melbourne Water easement and school grounds.

Doysal Ave Pressure Reduction System

Client: Utility Services (Thiess / South East Water)

Project Description

The project was the supply and installation of pipe, fittings and concrete pit for the installation of the Pressure Reduction Valve (PRV) and flow meter. The tapping works required careful planning and scheduling as the water main shut downs had to be conducted as night works with change over crews to achieve successful connections. The 300mm MSCL water main required two connections and an in line valve to be installed. The concrete pit was installed in situ with 16mm steel rebar used to ensure the structure would be an asset of South East Water’s for many years to come.

Targets / Performance Outcomes

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connections to the live water assets during night works shut down time and reinstatement the VicRoads asset.

Kidds Road Pressure Reduction System

Project Description

The project was the supply and installation of pipe, fittings and concrete pit for the installation of the Pressure Reduction Valve (PRV) and flow meter. Deep excavations were required for live water main tapings of South East Water’s and Melbourne Water’s 600mm and 450mm MSCL pipelines.

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connections to the live water assets and reinstatement of the Casey Council reserve.

Victoria Harbour Infrastructure Works

Client: Bovis Lend Lease / City West Water

Project Description

This project included the supply and installation of all stormwater, water, recycled water and sewer works including manholes, drainage pits, connections and live break ins.

Our construction team experienced challenging ground conditions with coode island silt, ground water and deep excavations. The works were conducted in the tight city streets of Docklands and a heavily congested site with building construction personnel and machinery.

Targets / Performance Outcomes

Constructing the works with minimal disturbance to the construction of the Bovis Lend Lease building site. All works were conducted with a high level of safety to achieve no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders.

Elster Creek Sewer Manhole Construction and Boring Team Assistance Works

Project Description

The project required deep exaction of boring entry and exit shafts, open cut installation of pipeline works, deep manhole structures including ring and timber methods, PE welding, night works, dewatering, confined space entry, live sewer break ins and reinstatement of parks, gardens and road structures.

Bakers Road Pressure Reduction System

Project Description

The project was the supply and installation of pipe, fittings and concrete pit for the installation of the Pressure Reduction Valve (PRV). Deep excavations were required for live water main taping of Melbourne Water’s 825mm MSCL pipeline and South East Water’s 150mm AC water main.

Targets / Performance Outcomes

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connections to the live water main asset, coordination of water main shut downs when connecting to the AC water main and reinstatement of the Melbourne Water reserve.

Devon Street Pressure Reduction System

Project Description

The project was the supply and installation of pipe, fittings and concrete pit for the installation of the Pressure Reduction Valve (PRV) and flow meter. The tapping works required careful planning and staging as the water mains were deeply located in the busy Warrigal Road. This required scheduled water main shut downs and night works with change over crews to achieve successful connections. A 450mm in line stop valve had to be installed into the MSCL along with two 450mm take offs and a 150mm DICL connection.

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connections to the live water assets during night works shut down time and reinstatement the VicRoads asset.

Frawley Road Pressure Reduction System

Project Description

The project was the supply and installation of pipe, fittings and concrete pit for the installation of the Pressure Reduction Valve (PRV) and flow meter. The tapping works required careful planning and scheduling as the water main shut downs had to be conducted as night works with change over crews to achieve successful connections into the 300mm AC water mains. To further avoid disturbance to the public, approximately 100m of 280mm PE pipe had to be Horizontally Directionally Drilled (HDD) under Frawley Road. The concrete pit was installed insitu with 16mm steel reo bar used to ensure the structure would be an asset of South East Water’s for many years to come.

A safe installation of all works with no LTI’s or disturbance to the public or stakeholders. Successful connections to the live water assets during night works shut down time and reinstate road and footpath assets.
