Project Description
6.5km of 200mm to 225mm OPVC pipeline construction of rising and gravity mains through the Great Otway National Park and the Anglesea Heath National Heritage area. Major environmental constraints included the presence of Phytopthora Cinnamomi (Cinnamon Fungus), more than 620 of Victoria’s plant species and 80 different orchids.
Targets / Performance Outcomes
Management of seven stakeholder requirements was a task critical to the success of this project. Performance outcomes included 100% recycling of all project waste, avoiding removal of 8,300 cubic meters of excess spoil and further avoided the need to import 7,800 cubic meters of bedding sand, this saved 1,600 tipping truck movements within this sensitive environment. Accolades include the Winner of the CCF State Earth Awards 2007 and numerous trade presentations and a paper at Pipes Wagga.
