JHL Civil has been awarded the contract to construct a Recycled Water Main from the Altona Treatment Plant to Qenos Olefins based on the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and awareness.
The 3.7km 400mm HDPE pipeline is required to be constructed through coastal saltmarsh, plains grassland and spiny rice flower.
JHL Civil is renowned for its teams ability to manage pipeline construction through sensitive native vegetation as proven in projects such as the Traralgon to Rosedale recycled water pipeline, Woodend Racecourse recycled water pipeline, Aireys Inlet to Anglesea recycled water pipeline and Falls Creek Gravity main amongst others.
The pipeline will mean Qenos will almost be eliminating its freshwater use in its manufacturing processes.
Construction will commence in February 2010.
